Allergy

An allergy refers to an exaggerated reaction by our immune system in response to bodily contact with certain foreign substances. It is exaggerated because these foreign substances are usually seen by the body as harmless and no response occurs in non- allergic people.
Symptoms

  • Rash
  • Itchy, watery eyes
  • Congestion
  • Food Allergy:The allergens in food are those components that are responsible for inciting an allergic reaction. It is an abnormal response to food that is triggered by a specific reaction in the immune system.
  • Anything can be an allergen. Common dust, pollen, plants, medications, certain foods, insect venoms, animal dander, viruses, or bacteria are examples of allergens.
  • Reactions may occur in one spot, such as a small skin rash or itchy eyes, or all over, as in a whole body rash
Treatments
  • Allergies are highly treatable, although they are generally not curable. This includes diagnosing the specific allergen or allergens and avoiding exposure to them.
  • Medications available in pill, liquid, topical and nasal spray forms can help in a great way to prevent it.
  • It may include such measures as staying in air-conditioned buildings when pollen counts are high and using cool compresses on itchy eyes or skin
  • Allergy injections may be prescribed for people who do not respond readily to oral or topical medications.
  • Allergen avoidance and minimisation of exposure - including dietary management in food allergies, minimisation of dust mites with strategies in the home environment.

Anemia

Anemia is a medical condition in which the red blood cell(RBC) count or haemoglobin is less than normal.Blood is of two parts- liquid part, called plasma and a cellular part. The cellular part contains several different kinds of cell types. The RBC are the most important cell types. The other cell types are the white blood cells and platelets.Red blood cells are made in the bone marrow and when they are mature they are released into the blood stream.Even though they are made in the bone marrow there are other factors which are responsible for their production.like for example iron is a very important component of the hemoglobin molecule, erythropoietin is alos one of the factor of producing the RBCs.
Symptoms

  • Fatigue
  • Weakness
  • Fainting
  • Breathlessness
  • Pale complexion
  • Dizziness
  • Headache
  • Ringing in the ears
  • Difficulty sleeping
  • Rapid heartbeat
Treatments
  • Dietary changes:some of the dietary changes are required to get protected from anemia.
  • Iron:iron is to used to make hemoglobin. It can more easily absorb iron from meats than from vegetables or other foods.Spinach,Peanuts, peanut butter, and almondsDried fruits, such as raisins, apricots, and peaches are helpful to build iron.
  • vitamin b12:Low levels of vitamin B12 can lead to pernicious anemia. This type of anemia is often treated with vitamin B12 supplements.Breakfast cereals with added vitamin B12Egg and dairy products are helpful in this.
  • Folic acid:body needs folic acid to make and maintain new cells. Bread, pasta, and rice with added folic acid,Beef liver,Bananas, oranges, orange juice, and some other fruits and juices.
  • Antibiotics to treat infections:some of the antibiotics are also taken to get protected from it.
  • Surgery:If there exist a serious or life-threatening bleeding that’s causing anemia, one may need surgery. If the body is destroying red blood cells at a high rate, you may need to have your spleen removed. The spleen is an organ that removes worn-out red blood cells from the body.

It also might affect how you release chemicals that regulate blood pressure and flow.

Working of Acupuncture:

  • It stimulates the release of pain-relieving endorphins
  • It influences the release of neurotransmitters, substances that transmit nerve impulses to the brain.
  • Influences the autonomic nervous system.
  • Stimulates circulation.
  • Influences the electrical currents of the body.
Conditions Treated By Accupuncture:
There are various conditions which can be very well treated by accupuncture.they are-migraines and tension headaches, sinusitis, common cold, addictions, trigeminal neuralgia, sciatica, arthritis, menstrual cramps ,fibromyalgia, low back pain, asthma, weight loss, infertility.

Digestion

Digestion is the mechanical and chemical breaking down of food molecules into smaller components that can be absorbed into our blood , for instance. They are of two types-external and internal digestive system. Some of the organs playing mportant role in digestion are the mouth, esophagus, stomach, small and large intestines, gallbladder, pancreas and liver. The mouth and teeth are the first step in breaking food down. With their help the food is chewed and shredded. when the food is chewed the saliva is squirted into the mouth which helps to soften the food. Also it contains an enzyme that helps break down the starch in the food. After chewing the food passes down the esophagus to the stomach. The muscles in the esophagus move the food down the tube. After reaching the stomach, food is mixed with acids and with the movement of the muscles in the stomach ,the food is broken down. The food pulp after that is sent to the small intestine.Digestive juices released in the small intestine finish breaking down the food.Waste products and food which remains unabsorbed in the small intestine passes into the large intestine.this unwanted material is called the feces. It may take as long as twenty hours for food to pass completely through the large intestine. Then comes the pancreas which also plays a very important role in our digestive system which helps in secreting pancreatic juices containing enzymes. The pancreas also secrets insulin into the blood which is needed to allow glucose or sugar from food to get into the bloodstream. The largest gland in the body is the liver.it stores a form of glucose called glycogen. This organ is also where alcohol, drugs, bacteria and old blood cells are broken down and removed from the body and damage to the liver can lead to serious problems as this organ is extremely necessary to life. The gallbladder is a small sac on the underside of the right side of the liver. It stores bile that is made by the liver which is needed to breakdown the fat that is in food. The main hormones that control digestion are gastrin, secretin, and cholecystokinin.
Hence the digestive sytem is very important in digestion of our food in every one's life as the body can use them to build and nourish cells and to provide energy which is very important for the healthy life...

SINUS

Sinuses are paired air cavities/spaces in the cranial bones. They are connected to the nose on the facial part of the skull where air passes and mucus drains. Often they are confused with sinusitis. Sinusitis is a condition that occurs when your sinuses become inflamed and infected. It occurs when one or more of the sinus cavities become inflamed due to several causes such as bacteria, fungi and allergies to pollen causing pain in the nasal area.
Symptoms

  • Cold symptoms that don't respond to treatment
  • Persistent colds with coughs
  • Head pain on waking in the morning
  • A low grade fever between 99F and 100F
  • Weakness or tiredness
  • A cough that is more prevalent at night
  • A runny nose (rhinitis)
  • Nasal congestion
  • Halitosis (bad breath)
  • Swollen eye lids
  • Post nasal drip
  • Blocked or stuffy nose
  • Congested feeling and pressure
  • Facial pain or swelling
Treatments
  • Decongestants:These temporarily helps in relieving the symptoms and also in healing process by draining the nose and sinuses.
  • Nasal Sprays:These products, including Afrin and Dristan, are decongestants in a spray form.
  • Prescription inhalers:nasal inhalers can help reduce its inflammation .
  • Expectorants: Medicines, such as Guaifenesin, thin the mucus so it drains more easily.
  • Antihistamines.: These medications help in avoiding nasal itchiness and inflammation by blocking the action of histamine and salt-water sprays. Dry-air heating systems and air-conditioning can cause sinus membranes to dry out, crack and become vulnerable to irritants, inflammation and infection.

CATARACT

A cataract is a state that develops in the lens of the eye. They are made from a protein that has altered from its natural state distorting and eventually stopping required light from entering into the retina, the part of the eye that receives light.A cataract is a clouding that develops in the crystalline lens of the eye or in its envelope, varying in degree from slight to complete opacity and obstructing the passage of light.
Symptoms:

  • The common symptom of cataracts is the blurring and worsening of vision.
  • The dimming and fading of colors.
  • Decreased night vision, problems with bright lights and sunshine.
  • Glare may also lead to sensitivity to light and glare, especially in bright sunlight or while driving at night.
  • Double Images :cloudiness in the lens may occur in more than one place, due to which light rays reaching the retina are split, causing a double image.
TREATMENTS:
  • Medicines such as naturopathy, traditional medicines, homeopathy and Ayurveda can be used to treat it.
  • If a cataract causes minor vision problems, patients may opt to rectify their vision through glasses or contact lenses.
  • Various herbs, exercises and therapies can correct this eye disorder.
  • Naturopathy treatment can be helpful at an early stage only when the initial signs of this disorder are seen.
  • Surgery is the only way a cataract can be removed and cured.
