CATARACT

A cataract is a state that develops in the lens of the eye. They are made from a protein that has altered from its natural state distorting and eventually stopping required light from entering into the retina, the part of the eye that receives light.A cataract is a clouding that develops in the crystalline lens of the eye or in its envelope, varying in degree from slight to complete opacity and obstructing the passage of light.
Symptoms:

  • The common symptom of cataracts is the blurring and worsening of vision.
  • The dimming and fading of colors.
  • Decreased night vision, problems with bright lights and sunshine.
  • Glare may also lead to sensitivity to light and glare, especially in bright sunlight or while driving at night.
  • Double Images :cloudiness in the lens may occur in more than one place, due to which light rays reaching the retina are split, causing a double image.
TREATMENTS:
  • Medicines such as naturopathy, traditional medicines, homeopathy and Ayurveda can be used to treat it.
  • If a cataract causes minor vision problems, patients may opt to rectify their vision through glasses or contact lenses.
  • Various herbs, exercises and therapies can correct this eye disorder.
  • Naturopathy treatment can be helpful at an early stage only when the initial signs of this disorder are seen.
  • Surgery is the only way a cataract can be removed and cured.
